Lulzim Basha seems to start a reform process in the DP ranks in September. Yesterday he was elected chairman and today he convened the Presidency, where it was decided that the organization of the party will start in September.
On September 2, the National Assembly of DP will be convened where statutory changes will be made. Based on the changes in the Statute, the reorganization of the party will take place, where there will most likely be changes in all other governing bodies of the party.
According to the DP, the agenda of the National Assembly will be: Statutory changes; Organizational decisions in accordance with statutory decisions; Approval of the political agenda of the Democratic Party.
14 members of the leadership took part in the meeting, specifically: Lulzim Basha, Fitim Zekthi, Taulanda Jupi, Arbi Agalliu, Gazmend Koduzi, Mirela Karabina, Oriola Pampuri, Gentian Gaba, Kreshnik Çollaku, Flutura Açka, Merita Bakiu, Xhemal Gjunkshi, Enkelejd Alibeajt and Indrit Sefa.
Meanwhile, the Gazment Bardhi group apparently boycotted the meeting. Roland Bejko, Agron Kapllanaj and Jemin Gjana, who are supporters of Lulzim Basha, were also absent.
As part of the statutory changes, it is expected that there will be changes in the ranks of the National Council, in the secretariat and in the positions of the vice presidents.
Basha was elected president through a controversial process. Gazmet Bardhi and some deputies do not know him, but Basha seems to have decided to start a cleansing process. Most likely, those who opposed him in September will leave the party and it will be run by his loyalists.
