Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu calls the campaign for the May 11 elections the coldest and most icy in 35 years.
According to him, the result is even predictable, as he placed a "public bet" on Report TV's "Studio Live" show that the DP and Sali Berisha, in alliance with Ilir Meta, will receive fewer parliamentary mandates than Lulzim Basha received in 2021.
"This is the coldest, iciest, calmest, most unorganized campaign. I have followed them all and the DP has always been the champion of rallies, regardless of the election result. Today, there are dozens of reasons, besides the polls, that the electorate knows the result, as does its leader, and no opposition can produce an analysis or bring about rotation. There is no rotation on May 11. We have the SP facing 10 subjects, this is the panorama. Even more so, because the DP alliance has 25 parties. Why didn't the SP form a coalition? Because according to the calculations, the data does not show it to fall from the 2021 result, so no less than 74 mandates. I will come to this studio on May 12. Note, Berisha will receive fewer mandates with Ilir Meta in a coalition, as a public bet, than Basha and Monika in 2021," the lawyer said.
During his analysis, Spahiu underlined that Berisha's goal is to hold the opposition hostage, while Rama's goal is to get the 2029 mandate and why not a sixth, keeping Berisha as a crutch.
Spahiu also expressed concern about the opposition's situation after May 11.
"They will get less than Basha, who they denigrated for 10 years, and he will have a more positive result than Berisha and the DP will get on May 11. Their objective, Berisha's, is to take the opposition hostage. The concern is not who wins May 11, but 2029. If after May 11 the other parties merge, there will be no hope for 2029, hope is extinguished. Who will be there again in 2029? Again Rama and Berisha, and even Rama is interested in having Berisha face to face. This is the scariest situation.
This will happen because the entire political scheme was to leave out other parties and say that we are the only opposition. The American company needs two years for their vision of being the only opposition.
"To say that you want political rotation, you want Rama to leave after 16 years, we are here, we are the milk bottle, to impose an obligation on the diplomatic factor that they are the only ones and this is the worst. But this could go into Rama's 5th and 6th mandate and this causes a crutch. Rama's real crutch is Berisha", the lawyer emphasized for 'Studio Live'.
He also commented on the lists of MPs of both parties, saying that the SP has negativity in the closed list and positivity in the open one, while he sees the DP without electoral emotion.
"The Socialist Party has two moments. The open and closed list. In the closed list, Rama has included people who do not deserve it, unknown names, who have no merit and this is the most negative part. The positive part is that he has brought the wolves of votes into the open list. To collect votes, former ministers and influential MPs. They have entered the competition and in the end this translates into votes.
"I have only seen 2 candidates in Tirana campaigning on an open list from the DP, Jorida Tabaku and Ilir Alimehmeti, the others are not visible. Albania's electoral system is divided, the south votes for the SP, the north votes for the DP, and who is the war? Of course, Tirana. Whoever takes Tirana, takes power," said Spahiu.
