Base meetings worry Berisha, he starts attacking Salijanj
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has taken revenge on Ervin Salianji, after the movement that the latter has started in the DP. It is learned that Berisha has removed the former MP from the position of political leader in Unit no. 6 of Tirana. This decision comes 3 days before the protest of December 22.
After the DP National Council meeting held yesterday, Berisha was asked by journalists if he would expel Salianji from the party. " I did not say that there are no self-exclusions ," he said, implying that for the DP, Salianji no longer has a place in the party's leadership structures.
Tensions escalated after Berisha publicly accused Salianji of collaborating with criminal groups in Elbasan. “ This is a red line that will not be tolerated ,” Berisha declared. In his reaction, Salianji strongly denied the accusations.
Tensions began at the DP Presidency meeting last Saturday. Ervin Salianji accused Secretary Flamur Noka of misorganization and lack of direction. He said that the Democrats are disappointed and that new trust cannot be sought in the face of a structure that, according to him, has disintegrated. Salianji called the silence about the inclusion of individuals affiliated with the SP in DP meetings unacceptable and demanded Noka's resignation.
The clash between them continued even when specific names were mentioned and accusations were made of tacit collaboration with people from the majority to sabotage the activities of the DP. The debate worsened when crime figures were also mentioned.
Salianji and Berisha also clashed over Hysen Kadiu's contribution during the last elections. Berisha claimed that he had not contributed to the campaign, while Salianji strongly objected, saying that he had evidence and photos proving the opposite, and even considered the language used by Berisha unacceptable, asking him to withdraw or else he would leave the meeting.
