Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the chairman of the Socialist Party, was present in Lezha, as part of a series of meetings with socialists and their supporters, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party.
As expected, Rama did not hesitate to criticize the Democratic Party, describing it as a chronic loser led by a destructive leader.
" Only the Socialist Party, which at the time was in power, has never moved even a millimeter from the right line of protecting the national interest, and there are plenty of examples of this."
But the most meaningful example is the one that contrasts like night and day, the SP with its political opponents.
As has happened for 35 years, it is happening today. The Socialist Party is facing a front of opponents who have left nothing unsaid and will leave nothing unsaid, while they have become chronic losers.
"They brutally attacked the SP as a party linked to Serbia and a servant of Belgrade. But the truth is that those who beat their chests and threw stones at the SP during the day, at night supplied oil to Slobodan Milosevic and his ethnic cleansing machinery ," Rama said.
The socialist leader continued by stating that although 35 years are few in history, they are many to understand not only the weight, but also the extraordinary impact, the Socialist Party remains an added value and has an indisputable role in protecting our national interest.
" We approached the past, society and the world in a fair way. They seem like common words, in the sense that it seems the most common and normal thing for a political force to have a solid, unwavering and clear stance in relation to the national interest, but it is not so. If it were common, it would be characteristic of all political forces, but it is only of the SP ," said Rama.
The Prime Minister further stated that the Socialist Party, from the first day of taking over the reins of government, became the strongest support, the most unwavering and permanent support of the KLA.
" The liberators of Kosovo were treated as terrorists and persecuted in Tirana by those who attacked the SP as sold out to Belgrade."
It seems common for a political force to have a fair relationship with the past. The only one that was created as an example of the determination and courage of a group of people to share the past with the future and to turn the direction towards the future, and remained the only force that knew how to maintain a relationship of national dignity and historical truth with the past.
"It also became a force that did not allow the National Liberation War to be desecrated, but left the shame to those who had it and have it, opposing the war and exploiting that war as the source of a deeper division in our days ," said Rama.
The Prime Minister then stated that it was the socialists who, with their determination, approved the Justice Reform, thus accepting the costs, leaving the 'sword' to the people of justice.
" We are not fallen from the sky, but when it comes to appearance, it speaks for itself. The relationship with society or with the vote speaks for itself. It is the PS today that has raised the head of every Albanian. We have turned Albania from a black sheep into a country that is closer than ever to a historical dream. Feel proud of this party and great family ," said Rama.
During his speech, he also addressed the criticism and personal attacks against him and his family, describing them as unfair and inhumane.
" They have left nothing unsaid about my family, about my people, about the dead in my family, and you will never hear it. Because this is not humane and this is the humanity that separates the SP from the others ," he said. /Pamphlet/
