The Democratic Party headquarters was the last stop of the opposition march, where the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, delivered a statement to supporters, describing the protest as a “victory march” and a clear message to the government and international partners.
Berisha said that the February 28 protest sent a strong signal to Albanians and to "friends in Europe and the world," adding that, according to him, the end of the current government is near.
" Your march was the march of victory, of dignity, of courage. It was the most excellent message that you sent to every Albanian, it was the greatest message that was sent to our friends in Europe and the world. It was the terror, I call the terror of the narco-dictator Edi Rama ," Berisha declared.
During his speech, the opposition leader accused police leaders of, according to him, “mismanagement” and of attempting to divert the protest. He mentioned Ilir Proda and Sokol Bizhga by name, describing them as “vassals” of the prime minister.
Berisha also claimed that “infiltrated agents” had incited tensions during the march, misleading protesters about the prime minister’s location.
" You saw for yourself the greatness of our peaceful protest and the thuggery of Ilir Proda and Sokol Bizhga, two mercenary vassals of Rama who will share his fate ," he said.
In conclusion, Berisha declared that the protest marked another "record" of participation and that the opposition will continue the political action until the prime minister leaves power.
" We achieved another victory, we reached a new record in our protest. Nothing will stop us from throwing Rama into the dustbin of history ," said the leader of the Democratic Party.
This Saturday's protest took the form of a march on several axes of Tirana and was accompanied by episodes of tension in some areas, while it ended in front of the blue headquarters with a statement from the opposition leader.
