The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke during the opposition march on the streets of Tirana, describing the protest as a "revolt march" against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.
According to Berisha, the protest aims to express "popular anger" against what he called "the criminal organization of the Albanian government," emphasizing that cabinet changes do not change the essence of the opposition's political battle.
" This protest takes the form of a revolt march on the streets of Tirana to express popular anger against the head of the criminal organization of the Albanian government and its members. To tell Edi Rama that not one Lubi, but 30 Lubi if you leave, you and only you will be the main object of the popular revolt ," said Berisha.
He added that, according to him, the prime minister is the "casus belli" of the opposition's battle until his removal from power.
" It will be Edi Rama and only Edi Rama, the casus belli of our battle until his departure. Edi Rama is the generator of all the evils associated with his regime. Therefore, the departure of one or the other constitutes only his failed attempts to save his own skin. Nothing can protect him from the popular revolt ," declared the democratic leader.
Today's protest is taking place in the form of a march, without a podium and without a central rally, while the protesters have moved to several axes of the capital. Around 1,500 police forces have been deployed on the ground, while the Prime Minister's Office and other institutions of particular importance are under increased security measures.
