The Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS) has today rejected the request submitted by the Democratic Party to exclude member Ilir Rusmali from reviewing this political force's complaints regarding the election results in several districts.
The request, filed in writing by the DP's legal representative, Marash Logu, raised doubts about Rusmal's impartiality, highlighting his connection to the Presidency institution as an advisor. Logu also added that the member in question has displayed inappropriate behavior during the sessions, including personal insults towards DP representatives.
In the official letter to the KAS, it is emphasized: " Member Rusmali, unable to control his emotional outbursts and internal convictions towards the complaining party, the Democratic Party and its leadership, degrades into insults and personal insults towards the legal representatives of the electoral subject "Democratic Party - Alliance for a Greater Albania".
Behavior, actions and expressions, which not only violate the solemnity of the administrative review, but also testify to deep character problems, such as the accumulated anger of this member over the years towards the Democratic Party and its leadership, which causes him to lose objectivity and not maintain the minimum ethics of human/institutional communication, which should characterize members of a collegial body of a public body .
Despite the DP's claims, the KAS decided not to accept the request, leaving Rusmal part of the body that is reviewing the opposition's complaints after the 2025 elections.
