The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, delivered his speech at the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, making strong accusations against the government and comparing the political situation in Albania to that in Hungary.
In his speech, Berisha emphasized that there is a fundamental difference between the Albanian and Hungarian opposition, accusing the media and, according to him, the "free speech mafia" of manipulating public opinion.
" There is a fundamental difference between the opposition in Hungary and the opposition in Albania, which is not mentioned at all by the black mafia of free speech, which fabricates, manipulates, and deceives public opinion 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to protect their patron, the regime that feeds them ," Berisha said.
He criticized the comparisons that, according to him, are made between the two countries, calling them unfair.
" They, to deceive you, to disappoint you, compare the incomparable ," he said.
Berisha brought several concrete examples, claiming that developments have been noted in Albania that, according to him, do not occur in other European countries.
" In Hungary, the opposition leader was never arrested in an election year, as happened in Albania and Zayed's Tunisia. The seal and logo of the main opposition party were not taken away by political order ," he declared.
The leader of the Democratic Party also raised accusations of manipulation of the electoral process and vote buying.
" In Hungary, the government did not distribute 100 euros to every pensioner to buy votes in the middle of the electoral campaign, as Edi Rama did in Albania ," Berisha said.
He also added that, according to him, in some cities in the country the vote was influenced by criminal groups.
" In the cities of Hungary, the citizens' vote was not controlled by the largest and most dangerous drug cartels in Europe, as they controlled the vote in the cities of Albania, in Durrës, Elbasan, Lushnje, Fier, Shkodër, " Berisha declared.
The opposition protest continues in front of the Prime Minister's Office, while other speeches are expected to be held by representatives of the Democratic Party and its allies.
