Democrats take to the streets again to demand the removal of the Prime Minister...

The Democratic Party (DP) protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office has begun. Although it was announced at 7:00 PM, the 7th national rally has started after a delay of about 40 minutes. Shortly before, the leader of the Democratic Party (DP) Sali Berisha left the headquarters, while hundreds of citizens gathered in the square demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Rama.

Unlike the last protests, which were characterized by marches through the streets of the capital and traffic jams, this time the Democratic Party has decided to return to the traditional format with speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office. This change comes after criticism and lack of impact of previous protests, which in some cases were accompanied by tensions and clashes with the police.

Increased security measures have been taken on the ground by the Tirana Police, which has engaged around 1,500 officers for the smooth running of the protest. The area around the Prime Minister's Office has been surrounded by metal fences, while traffic on the boulevard has been blocked. Meanwhile, the podium from which the speeches are expected to be delivered has also been set up.

The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, is in the field himself, where he is closely following the implementation of the plan of measures and coordinating police structures to guarantee order and security during the rally.

The police have called on the organizers to distance themselves from any act of violence and to cooperate for the peaceful development of the protest.

In the sixth national protest, held a few days ago, the rally started in front of the Prime Minister's Office and then turned into a march on several main axes of Tirana, causing traffic jams for several hours. During that protest, incidents were also recorded, including clashes with the police and the use of tear gas.

It remains to be seen whether today's protest will take place without incident and whether the return to the speech format will bring another dynamic to the opposition action.
