During the Democratic Party's protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the head of branch no. 9 in Tirana, Eda Grimci, gave a strong speech, calling on citizens to react and actively participate against what she described as injustice and the massive departure of young people from the country.
In her speech, Grimci described the protest as a voice of citizens disappointed and tired of the current situation, while emphasizing that participating in the rally requires courage.
" Dear citizens, who have the courage to be here today. Dear mothers, sisters, parents, young people of this country. This is not a speech, it is a call to every Albanian. A call to you who are tired of deception and propaganda, to you who have been silent for too long, but today you are paying for your silence ," she said.
She emphasized that the citizens present at the protest represent a broader social voice.
" You who are here today are the voice of those who cannot speak. You are the strength of those who are tired, but do not give up. You are the echo of a people robbed and mocked. What you see is not a crowd, this is conscience ," Grimci declared.
Next, she focused on the phenomenon of immigration, addressing parents and young people in particular.
" Don't leave this country with suitcases in your hands and pain in your heart. This is not an option. This is tragedy, this is depopulation, this is the murder of the future ," she said.
Grimci also appealed to parents and families who, according to her, face the consequences of immigration every day.
" Stand up for your children, don't let them take them away. Don't let them humiliate you anymore, react against the thieves, don't vote for them anymore ," she said.
At the end of her speech, she emphasized that change depends on citizens' response and active involvement in public life.
" Enough with submission and fear, because from today, these people should be afraid of you. They are afraid of you, of your voice, of your resistance ," Grimci declared to the protesters.
