Democratic leader Sali Berisha expressed enthusiasm regarding the resolution adopted by the right-wing party organization led by the American Republican Party, which condemns the narco-regime and gives full support to the Albanian opposition.
"A major new event has occurred in the denunciation of the first and only narco-state in Europe.
Of the regime that has turned the elections into an electoral farce. Of the regime that uses the prosecutor's office as a political weapon against the opposition.
Above all, the regime that has built a narco-state in Albania as a serious threat to the security of the region, Europe and beyond," Berisha said.
According to the Democratic leader, in Washington, at the International Democratic Union forum, a forum that unites about 80 right-wing and center-right political parties, but which is de facto led by the Republican Party of the US, which includes the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and all political forces, the Conservative Party of Britain and other center-right and right-wing political forces in Europe and the world, they voted in complete unanimity, with full support, without any objections, for the resolution dedicated to Albania, a resolution which, in the span of 14 months, marks the seventh document or the seventh international resolution in which the center-right and right-wing political forces in the world have expressed full support for the Albanian opposition and the Albanian people under a narco-regime, that is, under an authoritarian dictatorship.
"Since October 2024, the forums or organizations of center-right or right-wing parties in Europe and the world have voted on 7 resolutions, of which two are from the International Democratic Union. Two are from the European People's Party, three are from the Center Democratic International.
All these resolutions make clear to all political parties on the center-right and right-wing spectrum the dramatic reality of Albania under the regime of Edi Rama.
These resolutions are a powerful support for the Albanian opposition, which faces every day the drug-based regime, the narco-state.
They are a powerful support for the opposition people who are experiencing some of the most difficult days.
"The suppression of pluralism, freedoms and fundamental rights of citizens and opposition MPs," said Berisha.
