Deputy Flutura Açka stated that the Democratic Party needs to open up, adding that until now it has been a party of the president.
In an interview for the show "Kjo Javë" on News24, Açka emphasized that the party needs to unite, but according to her this should be done in an honest way and in full transparency.
She added that the elections should be held and Basha should be given an opportunity to build a party with European structures and open to new figures.
" I am in favor of the process. I voted in Elbasan. Mr. Basha has not been tried without guardianship. We have to see because there are not many chances. Today there is a dose of idealization that undertakes today to bring about a change. Basha must change his political skin, he must speak publicly about issues that are directly related to the fate of the Democrats. The moment has come for him to speak from today on all the issues raised by that part of the opposition. Things have to be on the table to get the Democrats' credibility. Basha should set up a European structure, until now he has been the chairman of the party.
Basha has a very big responsibility, he must pave the way for new figures to be created. If the party does not open from September, then this party does not have much chance. Basha cannot do this without a young and wise figure. I am not part of his process, but I can say that when someone starts a political action, he must have a clear platform and things cannot be done out of anger. Democracy is cooked at the grassroots and we have become very separated from the grassroots. As a political party, we have gone through many difficult moments. When we are free and people decide freely, there are thousands of people who believe in us", said Açka
She added that the DP has lost the trust of the citizens and that its reformation is required. Açka added that Berisha has worn out as a figure and brings nothing but disappointment.
" The parliamentary group has worked hard and kept the heart of this party, but after May 14, it cannot have the same line. The center must work, the structures and institutions must function. Albanians do not trust the right. We have lost the trust of Albanians. They have tried Sali Berisha for 30 years, we cannot come to power with Sali Berisha. Even Basha is not a new face, but today he is without influence. Although we know that there is very little time.
If there is one thing that calms Rama, it is exactly this confusion in DP. He has been so generous with the pulpit and this has been on purpose. I think Berisha is there helped by Rama. I say that this new rise which I hope is a new rise. DP must be opened. PD must change completely from everything that has happened so far, otherwise it must go home and stop bothering us. A democrat is an enemy to a democrat, and Rama remains an opponent, he understands where we are today and this must change ", said Flutura Açka, among other things.
