US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived for the first time at Rinas International Airport under strict security measures.
What was noticed was the fortified escort of the number two of the American administration, where several armored cars accompanied Blinken to the center of the capital.
The visit, which will last 8 hours, is of particular importance as it not only confirms the strategic partnership with the USA, but also strengthens Albania's position as a key country for stability and progress in the Western Balkans. A message of support for justice and SPAK is also expected from this visit. In the DASH statement on relations with Albania, it is stated that the two countries are partners in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
Tirana has been 'dressed' with American flags, while a giant banner has been placed in the University building to welcome the number two of the American administration. In Rinas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, will be waiting and then he will travel to the capital under strict security measures.
The agenda includes a meeting with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. The meeting with the Prime Minister is expected to take place at 16:15, which will then be concluded with a press conference.
