The Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, has reacted after the boycott of the Municipal Council meeting by the Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party, accusing them of blocking vital decisions for the city and its citizens.
Through a status on his social network, Beci emphasized that for the second time within a month, DP and PSD advisors have abandoned their duties, leaving economic aid for poor families, emergency funds, and projects for the management of Velipoja beach unapproved.
"With this abandonment with stale excuses, they blocked the distribution of economic aid to poor families, although in the campaign they swear to fight against poverty. They blocked emergency funds for families affected by disasters. They blocked the decision for the good management of Velipoja beach, which would return public spaces managed by the municipality to citizens, away from abuses and political clientelism ," writes Beci.
