The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, in the Foreign Affairs Committee, where Minister Ferit Hoxha also reported, said that Albania is ahead of Serbia in the integration process.
Balla stressed that the opposition only lies and tells fake news. He added that the justice reform has been appreciated by the country's international partners.
"The opposition only reads fake news. They said that EU member states have rejected IBAR. IBAR has not been rejected. What will you say, sir (addressing MP Tritan Shehu) when it is approved, that you said it was rejected? Albania has opened negotiations in record time, it is far ahead of Serbia. Today in our region there are two vanguard countries and they are Albania and Montenegro. We have a historical record of opening chapters throughout the history of negotiations with the EU.
"The justice reform, which is vitally linked to two main chapters for integration, is a very important process towards a European Albania. The Socialist Party has supported and will support the justice reform. We do not choose our neighbor, but we know that one of the main dimensions of integration is regional cooperation. Mr. Hoxha is one of the best diplomats that Albania has, who has worked with several ministers," said Balla.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, today reported to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the progress of Albania's negotiations with the European Union.
Hoxha said that the negotiations have not been blocked and no country has vetoed them, but he admitted that there is a slowdown in the process.
