In Durrës, two families are experiencing the hardest days of their lives. Two children lost their lives in a tragic accident in neighborhood no. 15, after a drunk driver and speeding, turning a neighborhood street into a scene of tragedy.
While the city is still in shock, politics has wasted no time in "appearing" at the morgue's doors.
Deputy Prime Minister, Albania Koçiu, and then Deputy Speaker of Parliament Klodiana Spahiu, visited the families, paying homage and giving brief statements to the media.
"Let's respect the pain today, all measures will definitely be taken," Koçiu said in a statement to the media, a sentence that in itself is correct, but which in the context of the event raises more questions than it answers about when these measures will be taken.
Driver Nikoll Radaçi, who yesterday fatally hit 2 minors and seriously injured 1 other, turns out to be a driver who has been punished several times for violating traffic rules.
In 2022 alone, the 57-year-old's driving license was suspended twice for speeding, and he was previously sanctioned for wrongful overtaking.
After the very serious accident, the director of the Durrës Local Police, Afrim Tafa, was suspended from work, as well as two other officials, the deputy director for Public Order and Security of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Zija Sulaj, and the head of the Traffic Police Sector of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Kreshnik Skëndo.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police has launched a disciplinary investigation to assess whether or not there is responsibility among the ranks of Police employees for this case.

Kociu shume e afte per....perralla,,puna me e madhe qe ka bere deri tani ishte te bllokonte monopatinat nderkohe qe kriminelet bredhin me mercedes,,nderkohe qe shteti nuk ka kontroll mbi territorin dhe femijet nuk kane ku te luajne,,kafshe e kafshe
