Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji reacted through a public post, where he expressed strong criticism of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, regarding the competition processes within the Democratic Party.
In his reaction, Salianji recalled an earlier statement by Berisha, where he stated that "may the shame of history cover those who defend elections with one candidate", emphasizing that he agreed with this position.
Salianji writes that "shame be upon anyone who, for pragmatic reasons, privileges or personal benefits, conforms and accepts to desecrate their own dignity and democracy, becoming a burden on society."
He further emphasizes that democracy cannot be used only when it is convenient, adding that it is measured by the acceptance of competition, dissent, and free will.
According to him, whoever avoids competition and seeks imposed unanimity "is not seeking democracy, but submission" and aims to "preserve personal interest."
Salianji declares that "for the first time in the political history of the DP, Sali Berisha is afraid to face competition, with competition and struggle."
