Former president, Bamir Topi, has stated that Edi Rama and Sali Berisha built the system themselves and what happened in the last elections was expected.
Speaking on the "Log." show on "News24", Topit said that the DP lost, but Sali Berisha himself won, because he knew that he could not win against Edi Rama, because such a system has been built. According to him, it is an agreement that has been in place since 2008.
Bamir Topi: I think that those who deal with politics have no difference in their perception of the situation. It is not that I make an exception for those who are in the game. They know it very well, they have built a system and some rules of the game that lead to this type of result. When I say they know, I mean Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. There is nothing worse for a person who represents 500 thousand people. At least in the last elections it was proven that Berisha with the coalition represents 500 thousand voters. It is an extraordinary figure in the conditions of the population of Albania.
There is nothing worse when you put these people in a kind of suggestion, that come to battle because we will win. There were clear statements related to the security of the vote, to the program that will lead them to victory, to international support. So from all this political rhetoric, the opposition suffered a defeat, but Sali Berisha himself suffered a victory. Berisha knew very well that he could not achieve victory with Rama in front of him. The way the system is built, it cannot be achieved. But she has taken on two things, she has built the system together with Rama and has returned to the head of the opposition to give him hope for political rotation.
The information is that these two have continuously made the agreement, it's not just the one from 2008. Have you ever heard of Berisha regretting 2008?
