For 1 week, the CEC has been recounting votes for the Tirana District, while hundreds of votes previously counted for the DP and SP turned out not to belong to these parties.
Member of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS), Koli Bele, speaking about the progress of the process, said that if it continues at this pace, the process is expected to be completed perhaps on Saturday, or at most on Monday.
He explained that this process does not constitute an investigation into the boxes, as this does not belong to the KAS.
"Almost half of the boxes have been counted, and at this normal pace, probably on Saturday or Monday at the latest, after a week we will have a conclusion to the process."
We must understand that the change in votes reflects more than 600 counted ballot boxes, and here the first thing could be the evaluation criteria, or even human errors.
But we must understand that this process itself does not investigate box by box, but will be recounted to come up with a final result. To conclude whether in any case there is an intention to violate the law, it must be investigated in another process. We are not investigating box by box what happened, but recounting.
I am not able to give a conclusion for each box, but it should be understood that there are also human errors in this process, but we are not investigating boxes because it does not belong to KAS.
"It is not the body that conducts election investigations. Every minute is in the computer and there is no need for us to keep notes by hand," says Bele.
