The Electoral College has decided today to reject the Democratic Party's appeal for the Berat and Dibra districts, leaving the results of the local elections of May 11 in force. The DP had requested the invalidity of the process in these districts, arguing for numerous irregularities, but the request was not accepted by the court.
The decision comes after the rejection of similar appeals for four other regions: Lezhë, Kukës, Gjirokastër and Korçë, where the College has definitively certified the election result, despite the opposition's claims.
The hearings for the complaints in the Shkodra and Durrës districts remain pending, while the hearing for the Vlora district has been postponed to June 26.
The DP has emphasized in its reactions that it will follow all legal steps to challenge the result, while the majority considers the process to be legal and correctly supervised by the relevant institutions.
