The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has spoken about those "who betrayed him" and went to Sali Berisha's group.
Invited this evening to an interview on Top Story, asked why the people he himself supported and promoted in politics are today on Berisha's side, he said that it is a disappointment and that this should be turned into a lesson.
He further added that Sali Berisha asked to lead them to "fratricide" and that if he and his group would react, it could lead to "a civil war" within the DP.
" Quite normal human explanation. Everyone in our life gives trust, sometimes we get trust back, sometimes disappointment. Let's learn from this, it happened. It is a big drama for DP, but we learn from this.
What the doctor (Berisha) invited us to was a fratricidal war with each other. As you saw it culminated in that ugly event... My choice, and every leader's I think in such a situation, is to do everything, maybe the group to exalt himself, or to do everything including sacrifice and himself to save the group.
And the choice was clear. If we had joined the battle, not even the walls would have remained for PD. We would have entered into a civil war within each other. Rama benefited from this and DP and Albania were harmed ", said Basha.
