This evening, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, broke his silence and chose to talk about a number of issues in Top Story with Grida Duma, on Top Channel.
At the start of this interview, Duma asked him why he chose to block the pulpit and "play", blocking which he himself had complained about when he used to do 'Foltorja'.
Grida Duma: Starting from today's moment in the parliament, where for the first time in my view, you made a very long epic of arguments on the Electoral Reform, before we go to the political causes, my question is immediate and I ask for your understanding your… You had to be completely taken out of the game to realize it's not so much a game? Lulzim Basha: I personally did not make an effort to be in this game. I have consciously refused to be part of this game. There is an underground game which in these 34 years has taken the form of 'eat the meat but keep the bone', of a political caste which is produced in Albania and some other countries.
There are a handful of people who, even when it comes to reforms necessary for people, sacrifice them. The Electoral Reform Commission is an institution, but today it has fallen and been replaced by a cesspool.
There is a commission on laws, and these said they will create not even a subcommittee, but a working group.
The facts show that the DP is the only party engaged in the Commission, it is partly the fact that it did not work because of the other party, but the DP itself has two key moments that it submitted in December 2023 and November 2024, two drafts that deal with two the problem.
