Argita Malltezi appeared at a press conference to explain the reasons why Sali Berisha and Jamarbër Malltezi are being held in custody without evidence, but by political order.
According to her, the property investigation of her father started four years ago.
"It is not true that Berisha is being held under investigation because the property investigation against Berisha has now started, the property investigation has been started for 4 years," said Malltezi.
Then she said that SPAK claims that Berisha is being detained because he left the country because he has financial means.
"The basis for which the continuation of the measure of arrest is requested is the existence of the risk of escape. In parliament, SPAK actually stated that the measure of arrest against Berisha is being decided because he did not respect the first measures. Then, by political order, the dance was changed and SPAK raises this claim. The court is obliged to say how the risk of flight is proven. There is no evidence. SPAK says there is a risk of flight because they have the financial means to run. This is the argument given by SPAK. There are two people serving the sentence individually, Jamarbër Malltezi has been under house arrest since October 20, Sali Berisha has been under arrest since December 30. It is the same argument for both of them, they have the financial means to escape", said Malltezi.
