In today's session in Parliament, there was a clash between the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and the socialist MP, Elisa Spiropali.
The proceedings of the Parliament this Thursday were accompanied by retorts and tensions between the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and the socialist MP Elisa Spiropali.
The debate began after Berisha addressed Spiropali in ironic tones, bringing to attention Prime Minister Edi Rama's previous statements towards her and his removal from the position he held.
"What are you, do you understand me, a mafia den? How is it possible that he calls you 'Skënderbe' and burns you? What is the reason?", declared Berisha from the Parliament podium.
After the statement of the DP leader, Elisa Spiropali reacted immediately, accusing Berisha of political contradictions and the role he has played in the system that he criticizes today.
"Sali, you are unbelievable, because at the same time you are both the biggest whistleblower and the biggest guarantor of the system ," Spiropali said during her speech in the Assembly.
The socialist MP continued her criticism of the democratic leader, stating that citizens no longer trust his political rhetoric. She added that Berisha must step down in order to liberate the opposition and the DP.
"When you free the system, when you free the party, we can talk here and maybe the term 'doctor' will stick with you more. Today, the deep contradiction of being both a denouncer and a guarantor does not give you the right to speak and gives citizens the right not to trust you," Spiropali said.
The clash between them brought tension to the hall, while the session then continued with other debates between the majority and the opposition.

Sali Berisha: The IBAR report was not approved. You create the agenda according to your own whim. Why do you erase the report from the citizens? You have filled it from top to bottom with lies. You ask to talk about a report that the citizens do not know. How can you accept it, Mr. Mayor, and the citizens do not know what was said? What are you? A pawn of the mafia? Elisa Spiropali: You are the biggest whistleblower and the biggest guarantor of the system. When you free the system, the opposition and the party, we can talk here and the terms will stick to you even more. But the contradiction of being a whistleblower and a guarantor gives citizens the right not to trust you.
