Activist Evi Kokalari has commented on recent developments in the Democratic Party, among them the Berisha-Bardhi merger.
Invited to Euronews, Kokalari in her speech seems to have betrayed Sali Berisha by declaring that she personally and the Conservative Movement will never cooperate with the former prime minister.
Kokalari left open the possibility of cooperation with Basha, whom he invited to a meeting in October when he will be in Albania. She emphasized that if Basha fulfills some of the conditions of her movement, then they can cooperate in removing Prime Minister Rama in 2025.
"I will be in Albania in October and I am very open to sit down with Lulzim Basha. Yes, I cannot be in a coalition with Lulzim Basha, if Lulzim Basha does not manage to agree with some things that I want to do. In 2025 we remove Edi Rama, and what I want is very extreme. If Basha signs a letter that agrees with four or five points that I want to implement in Albania, I will sit down to discuss in detail and say that it is the official PD that needs to be strengthened. It is the only way we can possibly win 2025. It is to see that many things have changed. I have no communication with Berisha and there is no reason to have a communication," said Kokalari.
