The Complaints and Sanctions Commission decided to reject the request of Sali Berisha's group, recognizing Lulzim Basha as the official DP chairman.
KAS thus left in effect the decision of September 4 of Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, who registered the Democratic Party with chairman Lulzim Basha for the partial elections of September 24.
Despite the claims of the legal representative of Reestablishment for the registration of the Democratic Party with chairman Sali Berisha, Celibashi announced that the Court of Tirana recognizes Basha as the chairman.
He clarified once again that there is only one PD in the register of parties, where Lulzim Basha and his supporters are the ones who have the seal and the logo.
Yesterday Berisha's group sent to the CEC the request to register.
The candidate Emri Vata emerged from Berisha's "Primaries" will register and compete as on May 14 under the slogan of the "Together We Win" coalition with Ilir Meta's party.
For the Kukës elections, the Socialist Party is running with the District Prefect, Albert Halilaj, the Bashkë Fitomjem coalition is running with Emri Vata, while the official PD, led by Basha, has not yet appointed any candidate.
For these elections, the political forces had until September 1 to register with the CEC as electoral subjects, while the candidates no later than September 8.
Now, as is known, the opposition will be divided even in the partial elections for the Municipality of Kukës, dividing the vote between two candidates.
The partial elections will be held after Safet Gjici resigned due to the sex scandal video filmed in his office.
On the other side, Berisha's group got a small victory today from KAS, which overturned Basha's request, giving the right to the coalition "Bashke Fitomjem" two commissioners and the official DP only one, after May 14 came out strong third.
