The head of the "Nisma Thurje", Endri Shabani, has declared that the political force he leads will support the DP candidates, as the Nisma Thurje itself will not run with their candidates.
Shabani stated that he will not support the old political caste, mentioning the names of Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka, who, according to him, were voted out in 2013.
"We have decided to compete for those races that we have a chance to win. In 2023, we did not compete for the mayoral elections, but for the municipal councils. This time too, we will not enter the race for mayor, because from May to today, we have not reached 50% of the votes. In order not to burn the votes, we have supported an opposition candidate. But I cannot support either Flamur Noka or Sali Berisha, nor those who voted out in 2013. I have no problem with the young people of the DP, but I have a problem with the old class of the DP that is represented by Berisha ," Shabani told "Report TV".
Asked if Binaj's candidacy in the Democratic Party is welcome, Shabani said that the DP believes that the actor's name is being imposed on them as a candidate for Tirana. He emphasized that Florjan Binaj is not the preferred candidate in the DP.
"To understand if Florjan Binaj is the DP's candidate, go talk to the DP and see how satisfied they are. They are the last to be satisfied that a candidate from outside is being imposed on them. I think they will support him, but be sure that he is not their preferred candidate. They prefer to keep the party closed and run themselves," Shabani added.
Although Shabani said he is against the old political caste led by Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka, he declared that he will support their candidate Florjan Binaj for the Tirana Municipality elections.
