The lack of a photo does not necessarily mean that Rama and Alex Soros did not meet in Barcelona...
Prime Minister Edi Rama was today invited to the fourth meeting of the "In Defense of Democracy" Summit, in Barcelona. As in every forum or summit held in Europe, Alex Soros, a friend of Prime Minister Rama, was also present at today's summit in Spain.
Once again, attention was drawn to the lack of a joint photo between Rama and Soros, a situation that is repeated for the second time after the last summit in Davos, where both parties appeared as if they had no contact. In the past, it has been Soros himself who has published photos with Rama from various meetings and activities in Europe. But, for the second time in a row, he has not shared any such image with the Albanian Prime Minister.
This behavior suggests an attempt by Rama to maintain a careful balance in his international relations, especially in relation to the administration and circle of Donald Trump. Given that Soros is considered an opponent of Trump, avoiding public exposure with him seems like a calculated political choice.
The absence of a photo does not necessarily mean that Rama and Alex Soros did not meet in Barcelona. However, it reflects the prime minister's attempt to operate in two directions simultaneously, carefully managing the signals he conveys to the public.
By avoiding joint appearances with Soros and showing openness to cooperation with Trump's circle, Rama seems to aim to build more stable communication channels with Washington. In a context where every statement or image can be interpreted politically, these elections take on special weight.
