The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, called on new opposition parties to join the DP in a common political front against the government. During a conversation with supporters on social media, he described this moment as crucial for the consolidation of the opposition.
Berisha declared that the Democratic Party would be committed to achieving this unification and extended the appeal beyond political parties. He addressed civil society, intellectuals, students and pensioners, asking for their involvement in what he presented as a joint confrontation.
He stressed that the opposition will not back down from the protests and considered them a means of pressure on the government.
"We will never give up on protest. We will do everything to join other opposition forces. I call on them to unite, it is time to unite against a fierce enemy. I call on civil society, which has remained beyond the control of Edi Rama, to join us. Look at the cruel attitude they have taken towards Aulon Kala, who has protested amicably and with dignity in every protest. I call on intellectuals to get out of your conformism because it is destructive. You must become the master of your country because it is being destroyed," Berisha said.
