The leader of "Albania Becomes", Adriatik Lapaj, was asked if he could be the candidate to challenge Edi Rama for the mayorship of Tirana.
He said he is ready for anything related to principles in politics, but emphasizes that his goal was not to deal with politics at the local level.
"I am a person who does not run away from battles. I have never run away from them. I think that in politics, as long as you have sincerity and fight against the system, it is not certain that you will get the maximum result, but you should not stop. I am ready for anything related to principles in politics, but I cannot express myself on this because my goal was not to deal with politics at the local level. For the simple reason that I thought that we should lead processes of legal transformation of the homeland and the entire transformation takes place in parliament and representation at the municipal level would be a commitment to stop at the political level this government that has occupied everything ," Lapaj told A2 CNN.
Lapaj emphasizes that the leadership will decide on the competition in the other 5 municipalities and this will be announced in the coming days.
"A political party is created to compete. I can't tell you today that it is a process that we are judging, but in principle my vote will be to compete. If I get one vote, but you are created for this, one day you get one, another 10 thousand, you will move forward. I have this position, but what the leadership decides will be announced later," he said.
Asked if he would support Endri Shabani, who has expressed his desire to run for Tirana, Lapaj replied: "Referring to our history, traitors are at best exiled, in politics, they are not promoted, treason is an ugly phenomenon that harms society. Treason essentially harms society."
But unlike Shabani, he says he is open to collaborating with Pano Soko. "I am open to collaborating with Mr. Soko, together we have run a model campaign and I have no other approach," Lapaj stressed.
He also spoke about meetings with supporters across the country. Why he has chosen to continue the battle outside the Assembly, how he will form the opposition in Parliament even though he was not elected as an MP.
