The exclusion of 19 deputies from the works of the Kuvedi has brought the reaction of the opposition deputy Agron Gjekmarkaj.
He said that this is something unprecedented, as opposition MPs have never been punished like this before.
Gjekmarkaj emphasizes that the reason for the opposition's actions is that they demand a normal parliamentary life.
"I just found out about the punishment and it's a surprise. Parliament has been transformed from a symbolic point of view, opposition MPs are being slaughtered. It has never happened in 34 years. The opposition has reacted in this way before and was not punished in this way. The opposition is reacting that its existential rights have been violated, it has been punished for demanding equality with the majority, it demands transparency, none of these are being given, forcing the opposition to stand up in protest. This is a strategy to leave her with her shoulders against the wall, taking her punishment to the extreme," said Gjekmarkaj.
The Democrat said that the opposition has chosen to fight and face the majority. However, according to him, the majority should be made aware as the tension in the parliament does not serve any party.
"We ask for the awareness of the majority, a parliament that functions like this does not need a tension, we want a normal parliament, and the situation of the parliament is not our fault.
The internationals have had reactions to the state of the parliament, they have shown concern, with their coded language. But what are our options? We will use every opportunity to return the parliament to normality, we want 50 deputies to have their representative in the electoral reform commission, we will react with what we have, either further escalation or return to the power of the word" , said Gjekmarkaj in an interview for Top Channel.
Earlier today, the Ethics Secretariat expelled MP Ervin Salianji for 20 days, while 18 other opposition MPs were left out of the Assembly for 10 days. Their exclusion comes after the disturbances caused in the last plenary session, as well as the chaos caused in the Electoral Reform Commission.
The deputies who have been excluded from the works of the Assembly are Albana Vokshi, Sorina Koti, Elda Hoti, Lindita Metaliaj, Isuf Çela, Tritan Shehu, Lefter Gështenja, Helidon Bushati, Xhelal Mziu, Edmond Spaho, Oerd Bylykbashi, Ervin Salianji, Samir Korreshi, Kasem Mahmutaj, Ramadan Likaj, Kastriot Piroli, Qani Xhala, Lodovik Hasani and Luan Baçi.
