The Electoral College has decided to open the ballot boxes in the Municipality of Kuçova. "We win together" candidate Lefter Maliqi complained about the result of May 14, claiming that the elections were manipulated by SP and its candidate Kreshnik Hajdari. Today, a session was held in the College and it was decided to recount the votes for 18 centers.
The recount will take place on Friday, June 30, at 9:00 a.m. in the premises of the CEC.
Lefter Maliqi lost by very few votes against the socialist candidate. He then denounced many violations found during the voting and vote counting process. CEC and KAS did not accept his evidence, but the College thought otherwise, giving a signal that after Shijak it was decided to have new elections, there should be transparency in Kuçovo.
During the court session that lasted almost 9 hours, the College examined the footage of the cameras of some voting centers, where it was established that in some of them there was family voting, observers who went inside the secret voting room and observers who helped the voters in folding and inserting in the ballot box.
According to the plaintiff Lefter Maliqi, family voting took place in at least 1254 cases. Also, from the footage shown in the session, it was found that some polling stations where the CEC's camera did not work at all, in some others it was out of focus, as well as cases where the secret rooms and ballot boxes were not visible from the angle of its placement. votes.
In a statement to the media, Lefter Maliqi's lawyer said that the CEC is a politically charged institution and that the decisions made by this institution are in the interest of a certain person or entity.
" The CEC has manipulated the process, it is a politically captured institution. Takes decisions in the interest of a certain person or entity. We are dealing with the total invalidity of the elections, since the Kreshnik citizen Hajdari did not reflect true facts in the decriminalization form.
KAS is a nursery of crime as it has decided in the present case. The court itself has described it as such while deciding to open the boxes ," he said.
