Former Democratic MP, Dashnor Sula, has said that the "hemorrhage" within the Democratic Party began in 2019, a time that coincides with the burning of the MP's mandates by the opposition.
Sula said that the strategy resulted in an empty cause for Sali Berisha that led to the collapse of the party's structures.
He emphasized that many members of the Democratic Party are tired of the unfulfilled promises made by Sali Berisha and, even under these conditions, have chosen to leave the party.
" It all started with the burning of mandates, Sali Berisha's empty cause. Many members of the DP are leaving the Democratic Party ," he said.
According to Sula, Sali Berisha has the Democratic Party with a certificate of ownership and any voice that dares to speak out against him will face the fate of removal or public lynching.
" Berisha's farce failed. I won my district-level race. The party belongs to Sali Berisha. If he had the chance, he would have obtained a property certificate, " he said.
The salvation for the Democratic Party, the former MP emphasizes, is the departure of Sali Berisha and the people he has within the party.
He pointed to his personal example, who despite winning the primaries in Elbasan, was left off the lists for the elections of May 11, 2025.
" The DP has started bleeding. The solution is the departure of Sali Berisha and his people. If you leave Berisha's line, you are an enemy. I won the primaries in Elbasan and they expelled me from the party, they did not include me in either the open or closed lists. They do not know an opponent, they did not even consider Lulzim Basha an opponent, " he said.
