The Berisha-Meta coalition lost again in the elections that were held in Kukës, and the loss was even deeper than the results of May 14, where the former prime minister managed to halve his supporters in less than four months. Invited to Report TV, Fabian Topollaj from Bindja Demokratike says that with Sali Berisha at the head of Reestablishment, there will never be a victory, since the democrats have lost faith.
“It seems to me that all the results and what is going on after September 2021 points to the answer to your question. Albanians are convinced that they cannot trust this opposition leadership. It seems simple and clear to me that the factor why the opposition does not become big is precisely the DP today, which has entered into a vicious circle of who they will keep as president. If PD has a success, it is because you have lost us in the new parties", said Topollaj.
On the other hand, the deputy of Reestablishment, Luan Baçi says that the victory of the Socialist Party was not clean. Although Berisha is listing consecutive losses and the support of the democrats, Baçi says that the former prime minister has no reason to resign.
"For me it was expected. I didn't think there would be a different result. This shows that Rama's government and Rama himself is 100% focused on taking power at any cost. The fear he had with the scandal that happened in Kukës made him make the most unimaginable moves. There is no way it will be a clean victory. Everyone can say that they are always crying, complaining. There is no better proof than the result achieved in Kukës, which is historically right-wing, which suffers unemployment, depopulation and the mass exodus of young people, a municipality which has a pair of forced elections due to an unimaginable scandal and we have such a profound result ", said Baçi for Report TV.
Topollaj says that the opposition should do a real analysis and start it from themselves first.
"There is not much to discuss regarding the result. This is a deep result and in one of the most right-wing areas that voted for DP. If we want to get to the point, we can't justify it just by the fact that the government steals. If we as the opposition say election after election that the government steals our votes, the citizen will say yes, why are you staying? With this logic, we never hope to come to power. Rama has stolen, will continue to steal and will steal even more. We must see the problem in ourselves. What we have to do is a real analysis and start it from ourselves. The first signal is that the citizens do not trust the opposition", said Topollaj.
