The former head of the Democratic Party branch in Kashar, Arsen Valisi, has asked Belind Këlliçi to resign from his mandate as an MP, considering him responsible for the DP's losses in Tirana.
"I call on the 'natural ezmer', the famous political leader of Tirana, to resign from his mandate as an MP and take responsibility for the result, just as you vetoed the Tirana list. The responsibility is yours and yours alone for the consecutive defeats in Tirana!
"And please don't open our stomachs by saying they stole from us, resign, be a man and take responsibility, the Democrats don't owe you anything," he writes.
In the Tirana district, 1,121 out of 1,282 polling stations have been counted so far, which accounts for about 87.4% of the total. According to preliminary results published by the CEC, the SP leads convincingly with 177,831 votes or 47.62%, maintaining its lead in the capital.
