The spokesperson of the Democratic Party, Mirela Karabina, has requested the resignation of the member of the KLP, Nurihan Meta, after her son Rei Meta beat to death yesterday, 55-year-old Armando Meshau in Vlora.
In a statement to the media, Karabina said that the author Rei Meta was a realtor and used her mother's name, while adding that the KLP member is an obstacle to the investigations.
"Due to the violence perpetrated by the citizen Rei Meta, the son of the member of the High Council of Prosecution, Nurihan Meta, the citizen Armando Meshau lost his life; as well as the facts made public from the preliminary investigations, which prove that the son of the KLP member acted as a realtor using the name and prestige of his mother's position, require an in-depth investigation not only of the crime committed by Rei Meta, but also of these public accusations that weigh on Mrs. Nurihan Meta.
Therefore, in respect of the law and because of the high office it covers, the Democratic Party calls on Nurihan Meta to resign to pave the way for justice.
Every day that Nurihan Meta holds the office of a member of the KLP, constitutes a serious violation of the integrity of the KLP, as well as becoming an obstacle for the investigation and the quick and complete investigation by the prosecution, of this criminal event.
The prosecution cannot be under pressure due to the conflict of interest burdened by the members of the KLP.
The Democratic Party supports the prosecution for a comprehensive investigation of this serious event in which Mr. Armando Meshau, and in these sad hours, we express our condolences to the family of the deceased", declared the spokeswoman of the Democratic Party.
