Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has given a statement to the media after appearing for probation. Salianji is respecting the decision after being released on bail by the Fier Court, where he was sentenced to 1 year in prison and served 9 months.
Salianji stated that he is awaiting the Supreme Court's decision, with the intention of continuing further in the Constitutional Court. If he does not find a solution there either, he warned that he will turn to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
Regarding the obligation to appear at the Probation Service, he explained that he will make another appearance within this month, in accordance with the conditions set by the court.
"We are in the conditions of a regime, where my political conviction and every day spent in prison confirm that for political interests and for any other interest that conflicts with those of Edi Rama's personal will to maintain power in any form, all extra-political institutions and instruments are used to create a climate of terror.
I will be back again this month, and then a probation program is being built. As long as this institution has been established and is implementing the Court's decision, I respect the decision.
"I await the Supreme Court's decision to proceed to the Constitutional Court and if there is no solution there, I can't wait to confront the regime in the Strasbourg Court ," said Salianji.
