The chairman of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, declared that he will support Florjan Binaj in the race for mayor of Tirana.
"Florjan Binaj is an engaged citizen who has fought for various causes, he is a man with whom we co-founded our movement and he is a citizen who has fought for public causes. Mr. Binaj has been side by side with us on the issue of the import of fertilizers; he has been in the square against the increase in prices; he has been for the lack of medicines. I cannot deny things. Whether we like it or not, the Democratic Party is today the second party in the country and represents a considerable number of citizens. We have declared war on those who have taken the system hostage. The Democratic Party is not the property of Sali Berisha. We cannot be so arrogant as to say that it does not matter that Albanians are fleeing, that Edi Rama has seized all the powers... We do not side with those who have taken the country hostage, but if an independent candidate emerges, with whom even disappointed socialists may find themselves, we as a movement will support him for as long as he asks and how he asks.
"We will neither seek increased protagonism nor will we impose ourselves," Lapaj told "A2 CNN".
