Gjergji Nika, the DP advisor to the Vlora Municipal Council, has been registered as a candidate for mayor in the by-elections in this Municipality.
But he does not have the support of the opposition parties grouped around the DP.
In a press conference, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha said that Nika has no connection to the DP, as she is an advisor proposed by former leader Lulzim Basha and Enkelejd Alibeaj.
Berisha confirmed support for independent candidate Dionis Sota.
"He has no connection with the DP. He is an advisor proposed by the former party leader, Basha with Alibej. He has nothing to do with the DP. The DP will support the candidate it has declared it will support. There is no connection," said Berisha.
