The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted harshly after the presentation of the new government cabinet by Prime Minister Edi Rama. He has accused him of open discrimination against northern Albania.
According to Berisha, the new government does not include any representatives from the north, which shows an unbridled and unprecedented hatred towards this area.
"Forgive me, but a pathological hatred for the north has been expressed. No one from the north in the cabinet. This is unacceptable and is not a coincidence," Berisha said.
The leader of the Democrat Party also said that investments in the north are at miserable levels, emphasizing that "they are less than 1/13 of the investments made in other areas of Albania."
"Of course, from what I see here, you'll forgive me, but pathological hatred for the north has been expressed, no one from the north in the cabinet. He proposed to Mr. Pacolli the position of deputy prime minister on condition that he give him the airport, but out of dignity, he has also rejected the offer of two personalities from Kosovo who have considered replacing him with someone from the north.
"This is the first cabinet in which he has expressed his unrestrained hatred towards the north of Albania and this is no coincidence. There has never been and will never be an occupier or dictator who has maintained this stance towards the north. Investments in the north are less than 1/13 of investments in other areas of Albania," Berisha said.
