Bardh Spahina's hearing fails; MP excuses himself with broken leg, GJKKO: He should come with crutches
The Special Anti-Corruption Court was scheduled to hold a court hearing today in the case of Democratic Party MP Bardh Spahia, but the hearing failed due to his failure to appear in court.
Today, Spahia himself was supposed to be in the session to give his statements, but his absence was justified by his lawyers because he has broken his leg for 1 month and is not recommended to move.
The prosecutor in the case, Dorina Bejko, after reviewing the lawyers' document on Bardh Spahia's health condition, informed the lawyer that their client can move with crutches and that measures should be taken for his appearance at the next hearing.
The next hearing was scheduled for October 10 and Bardh Spahia will be questioned.
Meanwhile, Bardh Spahia has appeared in the parliamentary sessions of the Assembly as well as in the meetings of the committees or those of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, even though his leg is broken.
SPAK brought the former mayor of Shkodra to trial on February 26. According to SPAK, Spahia acted in violation of the law by dismissing the director of Shkodra Water and Sewerage, despite a court decision to suspend this act.
SPAK says that Spahia, in his capacity as the President of the General Assembly of the Shkodra Water Supply and Sewerage Company and at the same time as the Mayor of Shkodra, on July 18, 2022, made the decision to dismiss administrator Mark Molla from his duties and appointed a member of the FRPD.
