Publisher and former MP Nikollë Lesi has analyzed the political situation in the country, expressing dissatisfaction with the way the opposition is acting, especially in dealing with the presentation of the new government's program.
According to Lesi, the opposition made a mistake the moment it chose to intervene during the Prime Minister's speech and then attempt to dismiss the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi.
" It has never happened that when the prime minister presents the program of the new government, it is opposed in this way as the opposition did. I was a member of parliament and when Sali Berisha spoke when he was prime minister, the opposition did not even whisper when he spoke about the program of the new government. There were debates, irony, but I categorically did not interfere. The opposition was wrong ," he said.
Lesi also touched on his expectations from the DP parliamentary group meeting, following Sali Berisha's speech. According to him, a major decision to launch a massive protest was expected, but instead, a request for Pelesh's dismissal and a repeat of the session emerged.
" Looking at the meeting of the DP parliamentary group when Berisha spoke, we thought that strong protests were needed. When Berisha said that a major decision would be made, we thought that a protest date would be set. Then Gazmend Bardhi came out and said that the major decision of the parliamentary group is that we will dismiss Niko Pelesh and repeat the session. With this opposition leadership, there is no chance for the opposition to come to power ," added Nikollë Lesi.
