The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted harshly after the threats that journalist Almer Toska received from businessman Juljan Morina.
Bardhi strongly condemns the threats and has called on the Prosecutor's Office to immediately launch investigations into this case. Bardhi emphasizes the importance of protecting journalists and media freedom in the country.
"A state that allows mafia threats against a journalist because of his work is neither more nor less than a mafia state! I condemn in the strongest possible terms the direct threat against journalist Almer Toska," writes Bardhi.
He further adds that institutional silence in such cases poses a serious threat to free speech and democracy.
"I urgently call on the Prosecutor's Office to act in defense of the rights of journalists, by strongly condemning this act and any act that aims to silence their voice. Journalists must feel free in their work and no one can dare to blackmail or threaten them ," Bardhi concluded his reaction.
