Asllan Dogjani, who on May 11 ran for MP on the open list of the Democratic Party in the Tirana District, has continued with claims that the vote recount process by the CEC is penalizing his name and the Democratic Party.
From the News24 studio, Dogjani claimed that KAS is following double standards regarding the evaluation of votes, while directly accusing Ilir Rusmali of influencing the alienation of citizens' votes.
Dogjani stated that hundreds of, according to him, valid votes of the DP, including 300 in his favor, were declared invalid unfairly. According to him, such decisions were made unilaterally, implying that the process is being politically influenced. “KAS is alienating the will of the citizens. We are not dealing with human errors, but with an organized scheme,” he said.
He stressed that although he is aware that he may not enter parliament, he is fighting for the respect of voters and the integrity of the electoral process. "7,900 citizens have trusted me with their votes. I want every vote to go where it was cast. What is happening in the KAS is theft, it is theft," added Dogjani, demanding that the matter be referred to the Electoral College for a fairer decision.
"I raised my voice against the alienation of the vote, for all citizens. The alienation is also continuing in the recount of votes. I thought that justice would be established. I am convinced that I will not enter parliament, but I am interested in every vote of the citizens going where they gave it. 7900 voters have trusted me, they have voted freely and I greatly appreciate the vote of those individuals. This is an organized scheme. We are not dealing with human errors. It was a vote, where a cross was placed next to my name. KAS took it as a decision that it is not a valid vote. They have given me many invalid votes in this way.
Not only me, but also the deputies of the SP and other parties. That's why I was irritated. I call this theft, I call this a thief. KAS is alienating the will of the citizens. Both the votes of the SP and mine should have been valid, not with a double standard. The 300 votes that were taken away from the DP are valid. Rusmajli acted with many standards. When KAS acts with two standards, I suspect that Edi Rama decides here. The votes should be sent to the Electoral College. Whether I win or not doesn't matter, I fight the battle for Albania", said Dogjani.
