The elected MP of the Democratic Party, Klevis Balliu, has accused the Rama government of double standards in the treatment of citizens and its political clients, taking the case of Blendi Gonxha as an example.
Balliu denounces that while ordinary citizens are punished with prison for minimal electricity bills, the government forgives millions in debts to leaders and relatives of those in power.
"Albanians go to jail for 10 thousand lekë electricity, while Blendi Gonxha's government forgives 1.2 million euros in debt," writes Balliu.
According to him, Gonxhe is the de facto owner of the company Albarent, registered in his wife's name. Balliu adds that this company has not paid a single cent in taxes for a period of seven years.

The company was closed by the Ministry of Finance for unpaid debts, but was later reopened and, according to media sources, the debt of 1.2 million euros remained unpaid.
"This is the reality of Edi Rama's Albania: citizens are punished with prison for minimal debts, while clients of the government are forgiven millions of euros," writes Klevis Balliu on Facebook.
