Lulzim Basha has reacted to the news of the passing of renowned journalist and publicist, Artur Zheji.
"The news of Artur Zheji's passing is unbelievable, a truly rare and unforgettable friend ," Basha writes, describing Zheji as a distinguished intellectual, peerless erudite and worthy son of Petro Zheji.
Basha emphasizes that life had given Zheji a special cultural formation, which distinguished him from his generation, while keeping alive the spirit of the Tirana boy, a warrior and sharp-tongued man.
"With the depth of a playwright and the sharpness of a political mind, with pure patriotism and sharp cosmopolitan sarcasm, Zheji always provoked an extraordinary sense of intellectual and spiritual well-being," says the former head of the Democratic Party.
In his message, Basha recalls that the fate of the nation was always at the heart of Zheji's public life and journalism, while emphasizing that Albania lost a courageous voice.
"My thoughts and prayers and those of Aurela go out to Claude, his traveling companion, and to the children, Besiana, Patrick, and Gary. Family was the great love of Turi's life. We will all miss you very much. Rest in peace, unforgettable friend!", concludes Basha.
