The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, has welcomed the development of the 8th Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union, stating that the country has taken another important step towards membership in the European family.
In his reaction, the head of state described the conference as a historic moment for Albania and another stage in the country's irreversible European journey.
He emphasized that European integration is not just a political objective of governments, but a national project that represents the historical aspiration of Albanians for a more democratic, more developed and more dignified country in Europe.
"European integration is a national project, it is the aspiration of generations of Albanians for a more democratic, fairer, more developed and more dignified Albania in the European family," declared Begaj.
The President expressed his congratulations to the Albanian citizens and to all institutions that have contributed to the reform process and the advancement of negotiations with the European Union.
He underlined that the integration process requires continued reforms, institutional responsibility and continued commitment from Albanian politics and society.
"Today, Albania took another important step towards the European family. The 8th Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference is another historic moment in Albania's irreversible European journey. European integration is a national project, it is the aspiration of generations of Albanians for a more democratic, fairer, more developed and more dignified Albania in the European family.
"Congratulations to Albania and all Albanian citizens for this important achievement! The path continues with more confidence, responsibility and dedication," writes President Begaj.
