A moment with notes of humor accompanied the 8th Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union in Brussels, as Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and Prime Minister Edi Rama exchanged jokes.
While appreciating Albania's progress in the integration process, Kos stated that the EU supports the objective of concluding negotiations by 2027.
"We support Albania's vision to close the negotiations in 2027, then we will climb to Korabi together with Rama," she said.
Prime Minister Rama responded with humor, comparing EU membership to an even more difficult challenge.
"We can climb the Eiffel Tower when France says 'welcome to the club', it's harder than the Korab," Rama said.
During the conference, Marta Kos emphasized that Albania is seizing a historic moment for the enlargement of the European Union and that the support of Albanian citizens for integration remains a decisive factor.
"This success is possible due to the strong support of Albanian citizens. Albania is taking advantage of this historic moment where enlargement is a priority for the EU. Who understands that this door cannot always be open, this is your opportunity," declared the European Commissioner.
