The deputy of the Socialist Party, Ermonela Felaj, rejects, on behalf of the majority, the condition imposed by "Reestablishment" in exchange for votes for the approval of the Criminal Amnesty.
A day ago, it was the deputy of the Democratic Party, Edmond Spaho, who made public the condition that "Reestablishment" requires the co-chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission, in exchange for the necessary votes for the approval of the Criminal Amnesty.
But according to the majority, this is an unacceptable request.
"Since PD has announced to the public that it has joined in diversity, let it accept this diversity in this commission as well. The commission takes into account the consensus not of groups but of parties, of those who have the opportunity to build a group according to the regulation. For the proposal they make, the bipartisan concept must be rejected, therefore it makes the proposal in this form unacceptable. I hope they understand and come before it's too late", Felaj said.
Felaj also clarified the reason for removing the Criminal Amnesty from the agenda.
This was done because if it could not be approved, it was not possible to bring it back to the parliamentary session without passing a 6-month deadline.
"The risk of not approving the criminal amnesty due to a provision in the regulation would force the assembly, which in this case would have kept it on the agenda and put the draft to a vote and there would not be 84 votes, then it would not present it again before 6 months passed in the Assembly of Albania. You must understand that if 6 months pass, the situation is not the same, the meaning and initiative of the Council of Ministers to approve such an initiative would be lost. Then a new law would be needed", said Felaj in an interview for Report TV.
