The General Secretary of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, spoke about the approval of the law on Protected Areas, which was voted today in the Assembly.
He said that for a long time the Assembly has turned into a disgusting notary of the government, while he emphasized that with this law the protected areas will be massacred.
According to him, the Assembly has turned into a "tailor shop" that sews laws to the order and account of the oligarchs.
Blushi also stated that the withdrawal from the agenda of the draft law on Criminal Amnesty is also another shocking evidence of how the institution of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania has been taken hostage by Edi Rama.
Teddy Blush's full speech:
The Parliament of Albania has long since turned into a disgusting notary of the Government.
Even the ugly plenary session that we saw today clearly reconfirmed that the Assembly has plunged into chaos and total lawlessness and has turned into a "tailor" that tailors laws to order and for the account of the oligarchs, to the detriment of the public and national interest.
Such was the adoption without debate and transparency of the much-contested law on the massacre of protected areas, from today they will turn into construction sites for resorts, palace complexes or businesses to feed the pockets of the oligarchs and clients of Edi Rama with wealth our national and public goods.
The Freedom Party called on "Rilindja" to withdraw from this unconstitutional initiative and sewn only for the account of thieves of property and national wealth, but unfortunately this did not happen.
Nor were the protests, concerns and righteous indignation of civil society, experts and environmental defenders, as well as the Delegation of the European Union, taken into account.
With this law, Albania will no longer have natural assets protected by the state and the very serious consequences will be irreversible and with irrecoverable costs even for tourism itself.
The withdrawal from the agenda of the draft law on Criminal Amnesty was also another shocking evidence of how the institution of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania has been taken hostage by Edi Rama and has turned into a bazaar between thieves, where the mafia interests of "Renaissance" prevail over public interest, so laws are removed and put on the agenda, according to the values of bribery and political bargains.
It's been a while since the Assembly, taken hostage by "Rilindja", no longer passes laws for the benefit of the ordinary citizens of this country, such as the honorable retired miners who have been protesting for their legitimate rights for a long time.
The Freedom Party fully supports the fair and fully feasible demands of the miners, who even today gathered in front of the doors of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, but no one even dared to meet them.
"Rilindja" is only interested in stealing with PPPs, concessions, golden roads and non-existent incinerators, not with miners who can't even buy medicine to heal their lungs and cure the serious consequences of a life underground.
The Freedom Party supports the protest of the elderly miners deceived by "Rilindja" who today do not have miner status and no benefits for the hard work they have done.
We support all the proposals of the miners cheated by "Rilindja", especially for the approval of the miner's status, the benefit of 135% of the minimum wage, as well as the full guarantee of free health services, including medicines for the treatment of chronic diseases that were caused by the underground.
The Freedom Party has launched an irreversible political, parliamentary, legal and institutional battle to protect and restore all the rights of pensioners, guaranteeing not only their well-being, but also the dignity they deserve in the future.
Pensioners and groups in need have become more impoverished both due to the lack of adequate increases in pensions and social benefits, as well as due to rising prices and missing health care.
"Rilindja" promised high pensions in 2013, but in 11 years it has done the opposite.
In total, indexation and real pension growth should be 75.5% at the end of 2023, compared to the end of 2013.
In urban areas, the average old-age pension should be today at the level of 26,332 ALL per month, while it is currently 18,842 ALL.
While in rural areas today the old-age pension should be at the level of 14,477 ALL per month, while it is currently 11,239 ALL per month.
Today, the Government of Edi Rama owes every pensioner in the city 7,489 lek every month and every pensioner in the village 3,238 lek every month due to non-indexation based on price increases.
Therefore, the Freedom Party will propose an amendment to the pension law for a change in the calculation of the indexation of the amount of pensions considering the increase in the prices of food items.
The Freedom Party will ask the Constitutional Court to rule on the violation of the pension law by the Government for not indexing the amount of pensions in accordance with the relevant law.
Also, the Freedom Party and its group of health experts have proposed:
Full financial coverage of all drugs used by pensioners and prescribed by medical prescription.
Coverage of all medical and nursing services at home for all retirees with health problems.
